Dr. Jennifer Suss

DVM

Jennifer Suss, DVM is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine and completed an optional small animal medicine and surgical internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. A native of Bergenfield NJ, it has been her dream to open a veterinary practice that serves her community with the highest quality veterinary medicine and personalized customer care. She worked at Bloomingdale Animal Hospital for 10 years before opening Bergen Veterinary Hospital in 2012.

She was also a volunteer veterinarian at the Van Saun Park Zoo for four years. Dr. Suss has built her reputation on the philosophy that she is not only treating the patient but working to educate the client to ensure the best care and quality of life for their animal companion. In addition to general medicine, her areas of interest include: pain management, dermatology, ophthalmology and internal medicine.

Dr. Suss is on the Small Animal Care and Veterinary Assisting Advisory Board. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, and the Northern New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Suss has served on the board of the Northern New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association since 2004 and is currently serving in her eighth year as the association’s president. In her free time Dr. Suss enjoys reading, gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and three children.

Dr. Jennifer Gordon

DVM

Dr. Gordon graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006 and the Royal Veterinary College in 2011. She practiced in London and Paramus before joining Bergen Vet in 2016. She lives in Fair Lawn with her husband, 3 kids, golden retriever, Charles, and British street cat, Stitch.

Dr. Nathale Castro

DVM

Dr. Nathale Castro dreamed of being a Veterinarian since she was 7 years old. Her dream came true when she graduated from Universidad Antonio Nariño in Colombia in 2009. She got her license in the US in 2022 and has been a part of the BVH family since 2020. Dr. Castro lives with her Cockatiel Yiyo and enjoys reading, dancing and diverse outdoor activities but her favorite things to do is to care for her patients…. And dancing

Dr. Elizabeth Garland

DVM

Dr. Garland received her BA degree from Dartmouth College and her DVM degree from the University of Minnesota. She grew up on Long Island and now lives in Bergen County with her husband and three cats Butch, Belle, and Boots. Outside of work, Dr. Garland and her husband love to travel, hike and spending time with family.

Dr. Garland loves caring for her patients and developing long lasting relationships with her clients. She has a special interest in oncology and internal medicine. Dr. Garland is also Fear Free Certified and a member of the NNJVMA and AVMA.

Dr. Alexa Albam

DVM

Dr. Albam is originally from Rockland County, New York. She attended Veterinary school at St. George’s University in Grenada then moved to Charleston, South Carolina for 2 years before deciding to move back near home. She has always had a passion for helping animals and believes in treating every patient as if they were part of her own family. Her dogs are a Grenadian “Pothound” named Maya and a Doberman named Maizy. In her free time, Dr. Albam loves weight lifting, trying new restaurants, going to concerts, and hiking.

Diagnostic Radiology
