Dr. Jennifer Suss
DVM
Jennifer Suss, DVM is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine and completed an optional small animal medicine and surgical internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. A native of Bergenfield NJ, it has been her dream to open a veterinary practice that serves her community with the highest quality veterinary medicine and personalized customer care. She worked at Bloomingdale Animal Hospital for 10 years before opening Bergen Veterinary Hospital in 2012.
She was also a volunteer veterinarian at the Van Saun Park Zoo for four years. Dr. Suss has built her reputation on the philosophy that she is not only treating the patient but working to educate the client to ensure the best care and quality of life for their animal companion. In addition to general medicine, her areas of interest include: pain management, dermatology, ophthalmology and internal medicine.
Dr. Suss is on the Small Animal Care and Veterinary Assisting Advisory Board. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, and the Northern New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Suss has served on the board of the Northern New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association since 2004 and is currently serving in her eighth year as the association’s president. In her free time Dr. Suss enjoys reading, gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and three children.
Dr. Jennifer Gordon
DVM
Dr. Gordon graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2011. She worked in small animal practice in London for 2.5 years before moving to New Jersey. She spent the last two years working part time in Paramus before joining our practice as a full time vet. She and her husband currently live in Fair Lawn with their two kids, Liora and Adam, British street cat, Stitch, and naughty rescue beagle, Harvey. In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking and traveling.
Dr. Chris Thacher
DVM
Dr. Chris Thacher, former Chairman of the Department of Surgery at The Animal Medical Center and current staff surgeon at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital performs advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgery at Bergen Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Thacher graduated from the University of Southern California in 1971. He obtained his DVM degree at the University of California at Davis in 1980. He completed a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship and Surgery Residency at the Animal Medical Center. We are fortunate to have access to such an accomplished and knowledgeable specialist!

Diagnostic Radiology
